2-methyltetrahydrofuran is an organic compound with the molecular formula C₅H₁₀O. It is a highly flammable flowing liquid. It is mainly used as a substitute for its special performance in THF for its better performance, such as obtaining higher reaction temperature, or easier separation. It is extracted from sugar through furfural and is occasionally touted as a biofuel.
