    Furfuryl alcohol is an organic compound containing a furan group and a hydroxymethyl group. It is a clear amber liquid with a burning smell and a bitter taste. It is miscible but unstable in water. It is soluble in common organic solvents. It polymerizes in the presence of an acid. It is found in the essence of broom flowers.

    • Furfuryl alcohol is an important organic chemical raw material. It’s mainly used for the producing furan resin, furfuryl alcohol - urine aldehyde resin, phenolic resin. This kind of resin is widely used in foundry industry in modeling and core-molding. Furfuryl alcohol can also be used for anticorrosive resin, pharmaceutical raw materials, tartaric acid, plasticizer, solvents and rocket fuel, etc.
